NEW DELHI: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has decided to penalise outsource service providers with Rs 100 per day per employee, if they fail to provide proof of payment of wages to their employees till 7th of every month.
The authorities have also mentioned that the agency/contractor should be made clear that payment of wages to their workers is not linked to the pending bills of AIIMS.
An office memorandum, issued by the director Prof M Srinivas on Tuesday, stated that after interaction with the outsourced staff of the AIIMS, it was learnt that often their salaries are not being paid to outsourced staff (paramedicals, security personnel, housekeeping, data entry operators etc) on time and minimum wages, ESI, PF, bonus etc are not being credited to their accounts.
To streamline the payment of wages to the outsourced staff at AIIMS New Delhi, the director directed the service providers to follow certain procedures including the biometric attendance system (BAS).
“All the outsourced staff will register themselves under the BAS, it will be utilised to calculate the salary of outsourced staff,” stated the memorandum.
The biometric data will be downloaded by the nodal officer and forwarded to the respective reporting officer of the outsourced staff.
After verifying all details, the report will be submitted before 3rd of every month. So the wages can be deposited in their respective bank accounts before the 7th of every month. Cash payment is strictly prohibited, said AIIMS authorities.
Not only this, proper salary slips with all the details of salary and deductions will be provided to the outsourced staff.
If the outsource service provider fails to provide pay slips, a penalty of Rs 1000 per outsourced staff to whom the payslip was not issued, shall be deducted from the monthly bill of service provider.
