AIIMS & WHO to train healthcare professionals

Lucknow: UP’s healthcare professionals will be trained by WHO and AIIMS Delhi in the treatment of injured persons in trauma cases. In the first three phases, 100 state health personnel will undergo this training, followed by all health professionals gradually. The training of the first batch of 50 doctors, 25 paramedical workers and 25 nurses will be completed by December this year.

Currently, the training of 33 doctors, paramedical workers and nurses is being conducted at AIIMS Trauma Center in Delhi and will end on Thursday which is also the World Trauma Day.

Special secretary, medical education, Durga Shakti Nagpal said: “With the efforts of chief minister Yogi Adityanath, it is for the first time in the country that WHO and Delhi AIIMS are giving training to health workers of Uttar Pradesh.”

Principal secretary, medical education, Alok Kumar added that the department of medical education is working on war footing to reduce the number of deaths in accidents and work has started on providing skilled medical personnel to trauma centres and emergency wards. “We are also monitoring emergency and trauma centres for the treatment of injured persons in medical colleges and it is our endeavour that the injured get better treatment so that their lives can be saved,” he said.
