Indore: National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and MGM signed a MoU for developing its lab as sentinel surveillance of zoonotic disease. The MoU was executed on Jan 18 this year between officials of NCDC and MGM.
Under the MoU, MGM has to strengthen the sentinel sites for surveillance of zoonotic disease by testing samples, sharing data and records with NCDC along with following quality control standards and sending samples to NCDC for external quality assurance and others.
MGM dean Dr Sanjay Dixit said, “ It will help in labs to test diseases including (but not limited to) Scrub Typhus, Rickettsia infections, Leptospirosis, KFD, CCHF, Brucellosis and Monkey pox etc.”
