I love making idlies for breakfast. I have quite few idli recipes in my blog. You can check out my ragi idli, rava idli, wheat rava idli, thinai idli. This shows my love for idlies, all because my hubby loves to have it so much, so i make it quite often. And to a change from normal idlies try different idlies.
About Instant Oats Idli Recipe
This is my oats version. I have an oats veg idli already in this blog. But this is a little different from that. It turned out so moist and fluffy, i like to have it with tomato chutney, but it equally taste good with sambar and coconut chutney..So give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you.
How to Make Oats Idli
- In a dry pan and oats and roast it till nice aroma comes , it will take around 3-5 mins..Allow this to cool down and powder it finely.
- Now take this in a mixing bowl and add in rawa and mix well. Pour in curd and mix well.
- Add in enough water and mix well till it gets smooth consistency.
- Now heat oil in a pan and add in mustard and urad dal. Add seasoning.
- Now add this to the batter and mix well..Add in salt, baking soda and mix well.
- Take the idli stand and grease the plate with oil.Take a ladleful of batter and fill those plates.
- Now stack it together and steam it for 15 mins.Remove this and allow it to cool down.
- Now remove the idli with a spoon and store in a hot case.
- Serve this with chutney or as it is.

Notes
- Roasting oats slightly before making it into a powder enhances the taste.
- Don’t powder the oats too much, make it a little coarse for better texture.
- Any vegetables can be chopped finely, sauted can be added into the idli.
- Baking soda or eno fruit salt can be used. If using eno salt, use 1 tsp of eno salt.
- Use thick curd for better texture.

Version 1: Instant Oats Idli Recipe
Take all your ingredients |
Version 2: Instant Oats Idli with Vegetables
Ingredients:
- Instant Oats -1 cup / 1 part
- Sooji / Rava / Bombay Rava / Semolina – ½ cup / ½ part
- Curd / Yoghurt – 1 cup
- Beans – 10 chopped finely
- Carrot – 1 grated finely
- Urad Dal / Ulundam Paruppu – 1 tsp
- Mustard Seeds / Kaduku -1 tsp
- Green Chilli – 1 chopped finely
- Ginger -1 tblspn grated
- Oil -1 tblspn + for greasing idli plates
- Baking Soda -1 tsp
- Salt to taste
Method:

- Now add this to the batter and mix well..Add in salt, baking soda and mix well.
- Take the idli stand and grease the plate with oil.Take a ladleful of batter and fill those plates.
- Now stack it together and steam it for 15 mins.Remove this and allow it to cool down.
- Now remove the idli with a spoon and store in a hot case.
- Serve this with chutney or as it is.

take it in a blender |
and powder it |
now empty this in a bowl |
add in rawa |
add in curd |
now add the sauted vegetables |
and mix well |
add in salt and baking soda |
now grease idli plate with oil |
take a ladleful of batter |
and fill these plates |
till idli is done.. |
